The 35th Annual Black Creativity Gala is right around the corner! The Black Creativity program is anchored by the Museum of Science and Industry Center for the advancement of Science Education (CASE). Black Creativity reaches more than 25,000 students, teachers, and families in underserved Chicago areas and enables them to inspire and transform through science education programming. The goal is to encourage African American youth to pursue educational and career paths in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, and technology. For more information click here.
Proceeds from the Black Creativity Gala benefit the Black Creativity Program. The night will start with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, performance by the Englewood children’s choir, and viewing works from the 2018 Juried Art Exhibit. The juried art exhibit is the nation’s longest running exhibit of African American Art (Started in 1970). The exhibit features approximately 100 pieces of art work from African American’s across the nation.
The night will continue with awards, elegant and creative dinner stations, and of course musical entertainment. Check out my experience from last year here. Make sure to follow along @chiataglance on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I will be covering the event again and posting throughout the evening. See you there! 🙂
