Chi@Glance has covered the Chicago Auto Show for the last four years and we’re really excited to give you a few highlights for this year’s show. One of the pre auto show events was last night and open to the public to attend. The First Look for Charity Gala is the city’s greatest one day fundraiser. It occurs the night before the auto show and is attended by car buffs and socialites alike. The cost to attend is $275 a ticket and there’s also corporate pricing. Ticket proceeds benefit 18 local charities and more than $2.5 million dollars is raised in one day. In addition to supporting a good cause attendee’s get the first chance to see the industry’s latest cars, trucks, SUVs all while sampling fine fare and crafted cocktails from area restaurants and caterers. This was the 28th year for gala and so much fun!! Keep scrolling because I’m going to share with you some highlights to be on the look out for at the 2019 auto show.
Tavi J. Highlights for the 2019 Chicago Auto Show
Concept Cars
I got to preview some of the concept cars at the media concept and technology garage. A concept car is a prototype vehicle made to showcase an idea, test a new styling direction, or highlight advanced technologies. At the sneak peak we get to see many of the concepts, brand-new vehicles, and innovative technologies that will be on display at the Chicago Auto Show. I was amazed by the Toyota Truck with robots in the back making Pizza Hut Pizza. Also, the Polaris Slingshot, which is NFL Tarik Cohen custom vehicle. He was even on hand that day to give it a spin.
Also in awe of the sleek design of the concept car Infiniti 10. The 2019 Infiniti Prototype 10 is a single-seat prototype car that made its debut at the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2018. The larger-than-life Prototype is Infiniti’s way of representing the old and the new with its flowing, vintage race car looks and advanced electric motor as engine.
Ford – Hank The Robot
Hank the Robot is back!!! Hank The Ford Robot is always a crowd favorite, especially with the kids. Hank was named after the founding father of Ford, Henry Hank. He’s made an appearance at numerous auto shows and offers the audience comedic relief and entertainment.

In an age of accelerating technological and environmental developments, “Start Your Impossible” marks Toyota’s commitment to support the creation of a more inclusive and sustainable society in which everyone can challenge their impossible.

Experience riding in the cars with the four indoor race tracks. Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, and Ram.
