Everyone (including myself) came out to party for Millennium Park 20th anniversary four day (July 18th – 21st) festival. Millennium Park is 24.5 acres and is one of Chicago’s most popular destinations, bringing 25 million visitors each year. The park showcases world class art, music, and architecture. I love going to the park for workouts and summer dance.
The 20th year anniversary line up included FREE activities, performances by award winning artists and more. I popped by the festival on Saturday, July 20th, just in time for Eli’s giant cheesecake celebration at Cloud Gate AKA The Bean.
The celebration continued that evening with a performance by Chicago’s very own, Common and the Grant Park Orchestra. Common is an Academy Award, Emmy and Grammy-winning artist, actor, author, and activist
Musical selections included: Testify/Prince, Go/Chaka Khan, The Light, Glory, and more. Common brought other talented artists on stage such as Talib Kweli, De La Soul, Black Rob, and Jennifer Hudson. Check out a couple of pics I captured below.
The night ended with Fireworks over the park and a super hyped crowd. Happy 20th Birthday Millennium Park!
