Rooftop Cinema Club (or RCC) is an open-air movie experience that was created by Gerry Cottle. A former circus performer, he left the big tent behind, moved to London and pursued a career in entertainment events. In 2011, he founded the Rooftop Cinema Club to combine his passion for unique events and film. Starting with one rooftop in Shoreditch, there are now 2 in the U.K. and 7 across the US in major cities including LA, NYC, San Diego, Houston, Fort Worth, Miami and Chicago.
The mission for RCC is simple. Change the way people experience open-air entertainment by transforming ordinary rooftops around the world into extraordinary cultural hubs that bring people together. This is social cinema.
RCC is back for its 3rd season on the terrace of The Emily Hotel in Fulton Market. The season kicks is in full effect with exciting new programming.
In addition to weekly events, like Tuesday Social Hour (live music, games and drinks) and Wine Wednesdays with Bucket Listers (free glass of wine + film), they are showing curated film collections (AAPI, Black Music History, Pride, nostalgic films), and hosting special themed events with silent discos, costume contests, trivia and more.
