Daisy’s Po-boy & Tavern located at
5215 S. Harper in the Hyde Park neighborhood hosts a monthly “Sandwich Series.”
The monthly Sandwich Series is brought to you by Chef Erick Williams in partnership with Gordon Food Service. The series features Chicago’s all-star chefs and their take on the Southern sandwich. For the month of June, award- winning Chef John Manion of El Che and Brasero will be featuring a Brazilian fried chicken with malagueta mayo, spicy pickles, and dressed cabbage. YUMMY!
The monthly Sandwich Series is striving to build community one Po Boy at a time. Proceeds from each sandwich will be donated to Williams’ Virtue Leadership Development Program, a not-for-profit incubator created to serve as a vehicle to equip local young adults of color with the necessary skills to learn value-driven entrepreneurship through training at Virtue restaurant.
On Wednesday, June 5th Chef Williams and Chef Manion had a live Q&A session. We got to learn more about Chef Manion and the inspiration behind his DELICIOUS sandwich. Afterwards we continued our fabulous evening with Daisy’s monthly music series with a four star brass band.
Head on over to the New Orleans inspired Po-Boy Tavern.
