The Chicago Auto Show is back! 2024 marks the 116th edition. This is the nation’s largest and longest running auto show. Over 300,000 people flock to the South Loop to see hundreds of different vehicles from around the world.
The show featured interactive exhibits, demonstrations, experimental and concept cars, antique and collector vehicles, special appearances, and MORE! The show takes place at McCormick place February 10th – 19th.
2024 First Look For Charity Gala
Each year this is one of FAVORITE events to cover and much of the coverage is before the show opens to the public. Last month we kicked things off with a media preview of the First Look For Charity Gala. The gala is hosted the evening before the show opens to the public. This year tickets were $325 and ticket proceeds benefited 18 local area non-profits, Attendee’s got to walk the showroom floor in their black tie apparel while drinking top shelf liquor and tasting bites from over 20 Chicagoland eateries. There was also a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer giveaway. Such a fun event!
Each year I also partake in the media days leading up to the show. I always love the concept and technology garage day. I get to network with PR representatives, designers, and engineers from dozen of automakers. We also get to test drive the latest concepts, get in-depth information from engineers and discuss in detail today’s latest designs and technologies. So many car enthusiasts and journalists attend this day.
My FAVORITE media day though is walking the show room floor. I remember my first time years ago getting to experience it and till this day it is so magical walking the empty showroom floor. I always make a beeline to the Supercar Gallery.
