I’m generally not a huge sports fan, but I do LOVE going to LIVE sporting events. The energy, the passion, the socializing, the food… all these elements get me going.
A couple of months back someone reached out to me and asked if I wanted to cover the Chicago Premier League Mornings Live Fan Festival. I admit I had to look up what it was, but when I did I was intrigued,
The Premier League is a FREE two-day event offering soccer fans the opportunity to watch Live matches together on the big screens and demonstrate passion for the Premier League. This year was the 10th anniversary and Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood was the chosen destination.

The Premier League and NBC Sports are hosting the two day event (Sept 21st and 22nd). A total of 15,646 fans were in attendance over two days of the action-packed fan festival, which also saw a record one-day crowd, after 8,948 fans turned out on Saturday.
Those attending can enjoy watching live Premier League soccer match broadcasts across nine big screens within the Park, as well as having the opportunity to see legendary players, club mascots and the Premier League Trophy.
I attended on Saturday and had a great time walking the festival and checking out the attractions. I unexpectedly got to meet NBC host, Rebecca Lowe.
I also interviewed former Premier League footballer, Mark Bright. He played for Crystal Palace FC.
I also interviewed former Premier League champion Gary Cahill. Gary was onsite as part of the broadcast and to engage with fans through the weekend.
I had a great time attending and covering this fun sport. Check out my interview with Mark and Gary below.
