The Chicago Auto Show is one of my favorite events! I enjoy covering the media events each year to show you all the new enhancements and features you have to look forward too. The Media Preview features traditional manufacturer press conferences, new-vehicle walkarounds and the opportunity to explore the show floor.
The two day media preview was held on 2/10 and 2/11 this year. I started off by walking the Chicago Auto Show floor of the McCormick Place complex.
First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. This year marks the 114th edition of the Chicago Auto Show.
All Chicago Auto Show exhibits are held in the McCormick Place complex. Exhibitions include: multiple world and North American introductions; a complete range of domestic and imported passenger cars and trucks; sport utility vehicles; and experimental or concept cars. In total, nearly 1,000 different vehicles are on display. Additionally, attendees will also have the opportunity to see numerous accessories and auto-related exhibits, competition vehicles and project, antique and collector cars.
My favorite preview event is The First Look For Charity Gala. The black-tie First Look for Charity, benefiting 17 area nonprofits. Complimentary top-shelf refreshments complements abundant hors d’oeuvres, from notable Chicago eateries. Two attendees won new vehicles — a Buick Enclave Avenir or GMC Yukon Denali. The gala is a fun way to get dressed up while viewing The Chicago Auto Show before it opens to the public.
Hope you have fun at the show!
