I remember back in the day my only relationship to weed was that song by Afroman, “Because I got high.” Back then the stigma was weed made you do all these crazy things. Although the plant remains the same, times have changed and so has the perception (for various reasons).
On January 1, 2020 recreational consumption, possession, and sales of cannabis products became legal in the state of Illinois (note still illegal Federal level). With that came various questions, “Why now?” “What about all the people serving long term prison sentences for possession of cannabis?” And for those that have been curious…. “How can I learn more about cannabis and get my hands on some?”

Knowing my love of food combined with my love of Chicago James suggested I try the “Beer & Bud” Tour. You also get to go to dispensary’s to purchase products if you wish.
I’m a cannabis newbie. I’ve attended some fine dining infused dinners in the past, used a vape pen once or twice, and had a one time horrible experience after mixing an edible with a large consumption of alcohol. On this tour I definitely felt in a safe space and not judged as I ask questions.
Cannabis Works of Art!
My first walk into the Dispensary would have been VERY overwhelming had I not been there with one of the Chi High Tour guides that walk me through the menu while keeping the energy light and fun. Also did I mention they give you a fun goody bag at the end?!? I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but it is one of the better goodie bags I’ve received on a tour.
