I don’t know about you, but my winter body is not looking like a summer body yet. đ Actually it hasn’t for awhile. I’m not comfortable sharing my weight, but lets just say I’ve gained between 40 to 50 lbs in the last 3 years. I’ve tried to cut back, but in all honesty my efforts weren’t the greatness. I realized I needed someone to guide me in the right direction and hold me accountable for my decisions. In steps…Certified Personal Trainer/ Nutritionist/Lifestyle Coach…Kati Zuromski. What I like about Kati’s approach is that we’re all not “cookie cutter.” Meaning, there’s a different approach that will work with each individual.
I am a Lifestyle Blogger and I cover various events throughout the week. I needed a plan that accounts for my ever changing meal/exercise needs. Last week I started a 2 week meal/exercise plan with Kati and I can’t wait to share with you the results!! For now though, Kati is guest writing on the blog this week to tell us a little bit about herself and her own weightloss journey. The “Un-Cookie” Cutter Diet: By Kati Zuromski
We are not all built the same, nor have the same goals, and our bodies definitely donât all react the same way. So why should we believe one diet or trend should work for everyone? Thatâs just it, we shouldnât! Our bodies and our lifestyles are not all the same, so when we want to start a new healthy living regimen we have to realize that what works for one person may not work for another.
My name is Kati Zuromski, over the last 9 years I have truly discovered food. It may sound silly as we all have to eat to survive, but have you ever really thought about what we are putting into our body? Or how well it combines with our activity level? I was diagnosed with Thyroid Disease when I was in my early 20s, hypothyroidism, 14 nodules, enlarged thyroid, and the list went on plus you name the side effect and my body had it! I was over 200lbs at my heaviest and standing about 5â7â this was not healthy in any way. I tried multiple fad diets (Beachbody, Isagenix, Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Miracle Wraps, every pill on the market, and even surgery) and nothing worked. I became depressed and lethargic just âacceptingâ this was the way things were going to be. Until one day talking with a fitness coach it hit me, I am not like everyone else. No matter how much I may have wanted it to be easy, I had to acknowledge that wasnât the case for me. So, began my journey on finding out what works for me specifically. Throughout the last 9 years I have learned and developed a guide which not only worked for me, but has worked for countless clients of mine. This guide helped me drop more than 60lbs, slowed my Thyroid Disease progression, made me accomplish things doctors said were not possible, and even got me into Fitness Bikini Competitor shape. What is this guide you ask? Itâs the Un-Cookie Cutter Healthy Living. Yep! I make each one of my guides personally tailored to my clients, from fitness to food. I create something that is specific to you and your needs, because there is nothing cookie cutter about you or your goals!
In this day and age, from the stay at home mom, the 9 to 5 woman, and the entrepreneur. Nothing about what we each do is identical. I help women reach their healthy goals based on what THEIR life entails. I have virtual training for my clients on an individual basis, which makes things even easier for the busy everyday woman! It is a monthly membership that includes, weekly workouts, weekly meal guides and, recipes, a one-on-one phone call with me each week to make sure we are on track, and most importantly accountability! I create at home or in the gym workouts, give you easy meal prep guidance and even family style recipes you learn how to portion for yourself without having to cook 4 different dinners. My goal is to teach my clients balance. Yes living healthy is important but you can still live life normally, reach your goals and most importantly enjoy food!
Some simple tips and tricks I can offer to each of my clients to drink water, hydration is key to anything you do. I stress to clients that drinking 1 gallon of water a day is a must. Most people think they do thisâŚI challenge you to actually buy a gallon and see if you can get through it from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed. Plain water can be difficult to constantly drink so I offer a few infusion recipes. One of my favorites, ½ cup diced cucumber, 2 lemon wedges, and 3 mint leaves. Another good tip is to meal prep as much as you can! I offer easy meal prep with all my recipes, but the key to success is to go in with a plan. It may take you a little bit of time on a Sunday, but you will be well prepared for the week ahead if you have at least your lunch and 2 snacks made for each day. Last big tip I can offer is to eat every 2-3 hours. Thatâs right! Our bodies need to eat the correct foods consistently to keep that metabolism going. We do not want our bodies to shut down and go into starvation mode. That is counterproductive and we will actually put more weight on by doing this and by cutting too many calories.
My biggest goal in life is to make others enjoy theirs. I want to make an impact on the world in a healthy, happy way. I want all my clients to be able to go out to eat, enjoy a party or put on a swimsuit and feel good about themselves! You are perfect and remember that you take care of your body because you LOVE it, not because you hate it.
