Oh Chicago…WHY, WHY are you so Cold?!? Having a staycation is a good option if you can’t get away, but make sure you’re living the good life indoors. 🙂 I let my hair down and headed to the North Shore to check out the newly renovated Chicago Marriott Lincolnshire Resort. When I say renovated, I mean a $25 MILLION dollar floor to ceiling renovation!!! The resort features several accommodations and amenities that will have you staying inside ALL weekend long. Why would you need to leave the resort when there’s two onsite restaurants, a full-service Starbucks café, a new luxury spa, an M Club lounge, an award winning theater, fitness facility, and a golf course!
“Guests’ needs have changed, and we’ve updated the resort to meet them with unprecedented comfort and flexibility,” said Eric Bates, General Manager of the Chicago Marriott Lincolnshire Resort. “We’ve married the sophistication of the Marriott brand with local, personalized touches. Everything has been transformed, from convenient tech upgrades, to the guest rooms and Great Room lobby, from adding two destination-worthy restaurants, and a luxurious day spa. We’re very proud of the strides we’ve taken to accommodate today’s modern travelers and resort guests.”
I enjoyed my time at the resort as a weekend getaway, but it’s also perfect for the business traveler, families, or even to host a special occasion like a wedding. The resort is 175 acres and has 390 newly-renovated guestrooms and a 5,000 square foot Lakeside pavilion for events and weddings. For those of you not following along on my @Chiataglance Instagram stories (shame on you!…Joking), I’m going to give you a recap on our stay NOW…..let’s start with Dinner.
We we’re invited to an exclusive Chef’s Dinner at the newly opened Three Embers Restaurant inside the resort. We started the evening with a happy hour. 🙂 I need a Honey Old Fashion right now. What I love about Three Embers is EVERYTHING is 100% made in house!
Our wonderful hosts Chef Pierre Daval and Chef Yo Chang walked us through several signature dishes on the seasonal wood fire menu. Chef Jessica Gnaster capped off our evening with a decadent dessert Check out the wood-burning grill placed prudently in the middle of the restaurant.
Food is always my favorite highlight, but I would be remised if I didn’t show you a few pics of other amenities you can take advantage of. The spa looks heavenly and is full service. There are several packages and services range from hair, facials, nails, massages, body wraps, makeup applications, waxing, and much more. Make sure to ask about the Valentine’s Day specials.
After the spa why not head to the theater. No I’m not suggesting you leave the comforts of the resort…the theater is onsite. 🙂 The Marriott theater was founded in 1975 and has collected many esteemed accolades over the years. The Marriott Theater in Lincolnshire sells nearly half a million tickets every year and brings world-renowned productions to the stage. (There are senior and student discounts).
For those of you that want to get some physical activity in, there’s a fitness facility on site or if you come during the spring/summer months you can check out Crane’s Landing Golf Course. Crane’s Landing is a par 70, 18-hole facility. It sits on 110 acres of preserved woodlands and has breath taking views.
We had sooooo much fun on our North Shore Chicago staycation and YOU should check it out too! Weekend room rates start as low as $95.00. I’m mad I have to head back to the cold reality now. 🙁 Until next time… Stay warm!
