Rahni Flowers is the creator and proprietor of Van Cleef. He received his degree in Cosmetology in 1977 and has been thriving in the hair care industry ever since. Rahni opened Van Cleef Hair Studio in Chicago’s River North/Gold Coast area in 1981 and has been a mainstay at this location ever since. While other businesses come and go Rahni has maintained a consistent clientele and celebrity following. The services provided are for all hair types and for both men and women:

I have been going to Van Cleef myself for over 3 years and can attest to his concern for healthy hair and a happy spirit. Rahni’s high standards and his rigorous training programs has become a signature of the Van Cleef experience. The professionalism of his staff should be noted. Going to other salons I would be waiting up to 3 hours or more to get my services completed. Rahni average salon time from start to finish is 1.5 hours. Don’t just take my word for it though. Many celebrity clients have gone to Van Cleef such as: Kerry Washington, Regina Taylor, Sinbad, Carol Mosely-Braun, and our very own First Lady….Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama started going to Rahni when she was eighteen years old and was a client of Rahni’s for 27 years before she moved to Washington, DC. Rahni did Michelle’s hair for the most important events of her life: wedding, election night, and the inauguration as well as the events surrounding the day.
