Recap – A Better Day with Julie and the Daisie Foundation Mother’s Day Makeovers!

This Mother’s Day 150 deserving mom’s received the makeover’s of a lifetime thanks to Julie Hightower of A Better Day with Julie, The Daisie Foundation, Dress For Success, and countless other sponsors. The women receiving the makeovers all had different circumstances…some were homeless, some had cancer, and some were USO moms. They were all given the 5-Star make over treatment and made to look as beautiful on the outside as their hearts were on the inside.

Key Note Speakers and Hosts

It was a journey leading up to the actual day of the makeovers. Myself and other Fashion and Lifestyle bloggers participated at an  event called the Leading Ladies Luncehon to raise funds for the Mother’s Day Make Over Initiative. The Leading Ladies Luncheon was held back on Saturday, April 29^th. For $50 a ticket (all proceeds went toward the Daisie Foundation Mother’s Day Makeover’s) guest were treated to lunch and an afternoon of fun hosted by Michelle Relerford from NBC, a fashion show hosted by Lourdes Duarte from WGN, and 4 Key note Speakers (Katy Lynch – Co Founder of Codeverse, Bela Gandhi – Founder of the Smart Dating Academy, Stacey Flowers – Founder of the Happy Conference, Dr. Jeannine Turner – Speaker for Go Red for Women).

I had the pleasure of interviewing at the Leading Ladies Luncheon hosted at Chez Chicago and walking in the fashion show. My stylist for the day was wardrobe consultant Vickee Yang (www.vickeevee.com). I was modeling the Banana Republic Chambray Off Shoulder Dress. Such a great item for spring and summer. The Leading Ladies Luncheon was a success! If you missed it this year make sure to go next year. It’s scheduled for April 28^th 2018.

Leading Ladies Luncehon

The fun and success of the Leading Ladies Luncehon was ALL for the 150 moms that received makeovers on Monday, May 8^th. Myself and Brittany Townsley McCollum of the blog the-fbombs.com had the pleasure of interviewing the wonderful sponsors and participants at the event. Channel ABC 7 was also on location to capture this joyous celebration. Check out the news clip below!

Once again I am truly thankful to Julie Hightower and team for all the wonderful work they did in organizing this awesome event. I was happy I could do my small part to help and look forward to many more events of this caliber. Awesome time for a great cause!
