Santa Claus is coming to the Swissôtel in Chicago

November 19, 2024 by Chi@glance

The Swissôtel is going all out with Holiday themed decorated suites with the Santa Suite reigning supreme. This past weekend I did a staycation at the Swissôtel inside their Elf decorated suite. I toured the Santa Suite and had a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant Amuse.

Santa Suite

The Swissôtel Chicago is a premier hotel located in the heart of downtown Chicago. The hotel is recognized for its unique triangular shape, offering stunning panoramic views of Lake Michigan, the Chicago River, and the city skyline. Since its opening in 1988, Swissôtel Chicago has been a landmark destination for both business and leisure travelers, combining Swiss hospitality with American warmth. The hotel features 662 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, each designed to provide a tranquil and productive environment with expansive city views. Guests can enjoy top-notch amenities, including a penthouse fitness center, a rejuvenating spa, and two distinctive dining options—Amuse, a casual coffee shop and bar, and The Palm, a renowned steakhouse.

I know what you want to hear about…. the Santa Suite. 🙂 Read the press release below for more details.

Perched on the 41st floor of Swissôtel Chicago, the Santa Suite will feature 17 holiday trees with decorations inspired by classic songs like, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and more. The suite will be decked out with dazzling décor, twinkling lights, and of course, Santa Claus himself.

talks, on-site installations, and public art initiatives.

Great performance by @dcomposedchicago! 🎻

Last night I attended Dialogues, which is an onsite discussion offering a deeper look at some of the themes, artists, and partnerships at the fair. I attended the panel 𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐛𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫: 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐠𝐨’𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 (Moderated by: Virginia Shore (Curator of commissions, Obama Presidential Center)).

The conversation brought together a selection of contributing artists from the Obama Presidential Center’s commissioned art collection to share their ideas, research, and process driving these significant public commissions. Speakers explored how they are responding to the cultural and civic bison of the Center (opening this June) and the profound significance of creating new work for this landmark institution on Chicago’s South Side. @Obamafoundation
