I love the saying, “Women Supporting Women.” We shouldn’t be each others competition, but instead each others support system. I get invited to cover many events, but I must admit some really do come at the perfect time and feel more like divine intervention. For various reasons my confidence has been wavering and I’ve been searching for that right reset. My first step was joining my best friend for “Sober October.” Just based on what I do I’m constantly in contact with alcohol and lately it’s just really making me sluggish, so I know this is a great reset.
Then I received an email asking if I wanted to cover the Marshalls Good Stuff Social Club on October 5th. You all know I love a good deal, so I was already familiar with Marshalls. I love Marshalls designer discount clothes and I’m an avid buyer, however I wasn’t familiar with Marshalls Good Stuff Social Club.

Marshalls Good Stuff Social Club is an inclusive event that gives women access to a powerhouse group of experts in a range of inspirational topics curated to help them bridge the gap between their vision board and their reality. WOW, what a powerful event. The event was hosted by, Whitney Reynolds, a devoted Chicagoan and host of the nationally syndicated PBS talk show.
Speakers included Priyanka Chopra Jonas, actor and producer; Cate Luzio, founder and CEO of Luminary moderated Chopra Jonas’s session; Vivian Tu, New York Timesbest-selling author and CEO & Founder of the financial equity phenomenon, Your Rich BFF; Karen Blanchard, fashion stylist and influencer; Jenn Lim, CEO of Beyond Happiness and one of the world’s top 50 keynote speakers and many more appearances!
I attended two of the thought provoking sessions. Of course my love for the TV show, Quantico led me to Priyanka Chopra Jonas session. It’s often one transformational moment – a workshop, a creative breakthrough, a major obstacle, or even a single conversation – that can spark our personal journeys toward getting the good stuff in life. But these moments – catalysts – are hard to pinpoint in real time. Priyanka Chopra Jonas joined the audience in an intimate fireside chat with Cate Luzio as she shared her catalysts to getting the good stuff in life and her keys to helping you create yours.

The other empowering session I attended revolved around networking. Finding the right mentor can feel a lot like dating – the pressure to put yourself out there and the fear of rejection are all too real. But like dating, it’s a numbers game. And the only way to find “the one” is to keep looking until you really click. In this session led by MENTOR New York’s Brenda Jimenez and Entrepreneur Rebeca Huffman, attendees received pro tips and pep talks needed to jump into the (mentor) dating game. Leads shared best practices for building authentic, lasting peer-to-peer relationships, before attendees participated in a round of “speed dating” where they could find a perfect mentor match.

I had a great time attending Marshalls Good Stuff Social Club in Chicago. Besides the awesome networking we also got to create confidence with a color analysis. Color analysis is a powerful tool that allows women to discover their most flattering colors, based on their hair, eye, and skin colors. Local color analysts Runa and Krishna of Your Color Studio conducted 1 on 1 consultations to help women access their best tones- the colors that hide imperfections and highlight their best features. Attendees left this session looking and feeling their best. We also got to take home a color analysis card to use when building our future wardrobes.
Marshalls Good Stuff Social Club mission is to provide women with access to the “good stuff.” Sometimes the “good stuff” can feel out of reach. That’s why Marshalls created a program to help provide women with the tools, resources, and community they need to help bridge the access gap between where they are now and where they know they’re capable of going.
