March 10, 2026 by Chi@glance

WINDY CITY SMOKEOUT ANNOUNCES AN AWARD-WINNING ROSTER OF BBQ PITMASTERS FOR JULY 8 – 12, 2026 FESTIVAL OUTSIDE UNITED CENTER

More than 20 pitmasters join the lineup, including newcomers Terry Black’s Barbecue (TX), ZZQ Texas Craft Barbeque (VA), and Blake’s Southern Milling (TN)

Windy City Smokeout, the two-time Academy of Country Music’s “Festival of the Year” music and BBQ festival from Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, is thrilled to announce its full 2026 pitmaster lineup of more than 20 pitmasters, representing the best in American barbecue from across the country and local to Chicago. Returning for its 13th year outside of the iconic United Center, the festival will feature an all-star roster of nationally-acclaimed names and local favorites from July 8-12.

Making their Smokeout debut is the legendary Terry Black’s Barbecue out of Austin, Texas, a pioneer of “slow and low” Central Texas-style brisket, Richmond’s ZZQ Texas Craft Barbeque, featuring a “Texas-rooted, Virginia-smoked” approach, and Tennessee’s Blake’s at Southern Milling, bringing authentic, wood-fired Southern flavors to Chicago.

Guests can enjoy the deep-rooted traditions of Mississippi’s Ubons BBQ, the award-winning ribs of St. Louis’ Pappy’s Smokehouse, and the “Rocky Mountain flair” of Denver’s G-Que BBQ. The lineup also features James Beard-recognized Little Miss BBQ (Phoenix, AZ), and local Chicago favorites like Lexington Betty Smokehouse and Smoque BBQ.

Event Alert! 🚨 @Expochicago is BACK at Navy Pier! Event Alert! 🚨 @Expochicago is BACK at Navy Pier! (April 9th - 12th) I always love going Opening Night. EXPO CHICAGO Contemporary Art Fair showcases leading contemporary and modern art galleries alongside a diverse and inventive program of
talks, on-site installations, and public art initiatives.

Great performance by @dcomposedchicago! 🎻

Last night I attended Dialogues, which is an onsite discussion offering a deeper look at some of the themes, artists, and partnerships at the fair. I attended the panel 𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐛𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫: 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐠𝐨’𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 (Moderated by: Virginia Shore (Curator of commissions, Obama Presidential Center)).

The conversation brought together a selection of contributing artists from the Obama Presidential Center’s commissioned art collection to share their ideas, research, and process driving these significant public commissions. Speakers explored how they are responding to the cultural and civic bison of the Center (opening this June) and the profound significance of creating new work for this landmark institution on Chicago’s South Side. @Obamafoundation

Reclaiming my time… 😂👇🏾🇧🇿 We were trying to save Reclaiming my time… 😂👇🏾🇧🇿

We were trying to save money on the way to San Pedro and did the 90 minute Water taxi for $30 from Belize City. We landed at 11:22am and caught the 1:30pm water taxi and arrived super tired and exhausted at our hotel around 4:30pm.

The other option was a 15 minute plane ride for $100. 😭😂 We definitely learned our lesson and took the plane ride back. Which would you do? ✈️ or 🚤
