2026 First Look For Charity Media Preview
First Look for Charity is a black-tie mandatory gala and one of Chicago’s greatest one-day fundraisers. The fundraiser regularly generates more than $2 million for 18 area non-profits. The gala is held at McCormick Place the evening before the public opening of the Chicago Auto Show. The benevolent event is anticipated by socialites and car buffs.
Guests are treated to champagne, wine, soft drinks, elegant hors d’oeurves, and desserts all while being the first to explore the annual edition of the show. Gala attendees also have a chance to win a Chevrolet Equinox or a Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid.

Today, January 14th, I attended the First Look For Charity media preview. The preview is attended by media journalists, car journalists, influencers, and content creators. At the media preview we are able to get a sampling of the First Look for Charity menu including fine cuisine from local Chicago restaurants. We also got to hear the latest Chicago Auto Show updates from 2026 Chicago Auto Show Chairman Jason Roberts.
The media preview was held at Goose Island Pub at the Salt Shed (1221 W Blackhawk St, Chicago).
