2020 will definitely be a year to remember. If you would have told me in 2019 that I would be basically on house arrest (quarantine) for the first part of the year I would have never believed you. Or that I would be walking around like a bank robber in public. Although some of these masks are quite stylish. LOL

I tend to always lean on the positive side and one thing I will say is Covid has me counting my blessings and experiencing things in a new way.
As Chicago slowly moved into phase three/four and allowed outside dining, it was a summer time game changer. ย No longer were you just dressing up in front of your mirror or for zoom calls, but we were given permission to see other individuals of society in a social public setting.
My first time dining out post quarantine was on June 14th at Club Lago. I seriously didnโt think I would be part of the first wave of patrons. I figured I would make my first appearance sometime in September. My friend is a trooper though and I met him for lunch. Not going to lie I felt anxious, excited, and couldnโt stop starring at other diners in order to try to pinpoint those asymptotic folks. (Joking)
What we ALL need to remember is this virus is still ongoing and we have to take safety measures to limit our exposure. If you donโt feel comfortable dining out then DONT. If you donโt feel comfortable ordering delivery, then DONT. Please be patient and meet people where they are. I still have some friends that wonโt even go grocery shopping. I seriously donโt judge anyone when it comes to this because Iโve been at all ends of the spectrum with how I feel and I need compassion shown as well.
With that said….for now…. I have been venturing out and checking out rooftops and patios. Iโve been on the search for restaurants that abide by the social distancing rules (6 feet apart, hand washing, masks at all times, etc…). Iโve been posting to @chiataglance Insta Stories for good social distancing rooftops/patios recommendations and below is a list Iโve complied. Some I have been to and the rest were recommended by @chiataglance followers. (Hey I canโt make it everywhere). Thanks for all your suggestions. Recess outdoor patio is 14,000 square feet, so there is plenty of room for social distancing. One thing I LOVE is how much diversity Iโve seen on each visit. Not just by race, but age as well. (Do note Recess is 21+). The burgers are fantastic and if you go on Wednesdays they have $10 burger specials. (Normal Price $16) Burger types also rotate weekly. I also highly recommend the tater tots. Love that they werenโt super crispy.
