Time to celebrate!! The Chicago Tribune Food Bowl is back for its second year! The festival, which spans from August 14 โ September 1st is as diverse as the city of Chicago itself. Thereโs collaborations from international chefs (Rosio Sรกnchez, Virgilio Martรญnez, World’s 50 Best Musa Dagdeviren, Pia Leรณn), events at mom & pop shops, secret menus, and much more! Chicago Tribune FOOD BOWL is back for its second year in Chicago, celebrating chefs, restaurateurs, mixologists, innovators, entrepreneurs, critics, and connoisseurs. The food and drink festival, which spans Wednesday, August 14 through Sunday, September 1, will collaborate with chefs and restaurants to offer 100+ events, in just as many locations. Expertly-curated events include specialty classes, test kitchens, panels and talks, collaborations, neighborhood tours, charitable causes, and more. FOOD BOWLโs program represents the cityโs diversity, bringing festival-goers to unique events across Chicagoโs many neighborhoods including Bucktown, Edgewater, Gold Coast, Hyde Park, Logan Square, Pilsen, Ukranian Village, River North, West Loop and many more. Each event will encourage locals and tourists alike to experience the food, culture, and community each neighborhood has to offer.

Opening Night Collaboration Lab presented by Citi
Rosio Sรกnchez is returning to Chicago for FOOD BOWLโs opening event on Tuesday, August 13 at City Hall (838 W Kinzie). The event will feature collaborative tastings from Birrieria Zaragoza, Brown Sugar Bakery, City Hall, The Duck Inn, Mi Tocaya Antojerรญa, Sรกnchez (Copenhagen), The Swill Inn, Virtue, and more.
Collaborative Tasting Menu with Rosio Sanchez and Elske
Anna and David Posey of Elske will collaborate with Chicago-born Rosio Sรกnchez for a one night only tasting menu on Thursday, August 15.
Almuerzo at Cabra with Chefs Virgilio Martรญnez, Pรญa Leรณn, and Stephanie Izard
Renowned Peruvian and Worldโs 50 Best Chef Virgilio Martรญnez, Latin Americaโs Best Female Chef Pรญa Leรณn, and James Beard Award Winning Chef Stephanie Izard will collaborate at Cabra for a midday feast of Peruvian cuisine on Friday, August 16. The tasting menu will showcase a series of dishes prepared in the distinctive styles of each chef.
CBK Launch with Chef Bill Kim
Celebrate one of the most refreshing collaborations this summer, the launch of CBK. Chef Bill Kim and Goose Island have come together to create an exclusive brew, CBK, that will be available at Urbanbelly Wicker Park. On Thursday, August 22 Chef will tap the first keg and guests can enjoy $1 Dumplings and $5 Pints from 6-8pm. In Chef Bill fashion, there will be patio games and his favorite DJ to keep the party going.
รiya at Galit presented by Turkish Airlines and Turkey Tourism
Galit will host visiting international chef Musa Daฤdeviren (รiya) for an exclusive, one night only Turkish tasting menu on August 26. The charitable evening will donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to benefit victims of war.
Night Market
FOOD BOWL’s Night Market is an outdoor celebration held August 23-25 from 11 AM – 10 PM daily on the Chicago Riverwalk. Each night will feature food vendors, DJs, and Art on theMART along the Confluence and the Jetty. Explore all participating bars and restaurants along theChicago River. Night Market is free to attend.
Green City Market
In its second year, the festival will continue to raise awareness and funds to fight food waste, hunger, food insecurity, and promote sustainability and waste reduction through participating events and with FOOD BOWLโs charitable partner, Green City Market. Green City Market will host multiple events throughout the festival including a number of market tours and chef demonstrations.
