Chicago’s own Hebru Brantley has teamed up with The Other Art Fair as the official guest artist to create and sell a special limited-edition work called Girl with a Red Scarf that benefits Little Black Pearl, the South Side children’s non-profit arts charity. Brantley’s work and many more from over 120 young and emerging artists, over half from Chicago, will be on view at The Other Art Fair when it opens for the first time to the Chicago public on Friday, September 28th, 2018 and runs through the 30th at Mana Contemporary. Tickets are $15.
Brantley, who’s works are collected by power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce will sell the limited-edition print in a series of 100. Sales of the $200 print in his signature vibrant PopArt style will help fund the work of Little Black Pearl, a non-profit that strives to counter the challenges of urban youth with a safe environment, access to positive role models, and skills development activities.
Says Brantley: “Little Black Pearl is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. I am pleased to be able to support their mission through this donation. Chicago has a very unique art scene and it is great that young artists now have a platform to exhibit their work at The Other Art Fair.”
Brantley’s work will be showcased and sold in a special Little Black Pearl booth at The Other Art Fair (“TOAF” or “The Fair”), the world’s leading juried art fair that offers collectors, seasoned and novice, a informal and lively way to discover the next art star and add to their collection from a great selection of paintings, sculpture, photography, and mixed media with a large number of works priced under $1000, some even as inexpensive as $100. Some of those Chicago artists visitors will discover include Gaby Bavio; Snow Fu; Janet Hamilton; Christy Helm; Kate Hendrickson; Michael Pfleghaar; Ramon Jimemez Cardenas; Faith Humphrey Hill; Michael Goro; Liz Mares; Greg Morrissey; Larry Roberts; Larry Simon; and Yvette Kaiser Smith.
