November 8th – Aim to be One of a Kind this Holiday Season!

The holiday season is here! I don’t know about you, but as soon as November comes around I start to focus on my holiday shopping. This past weekend I attended the Artisan Market in the Gold Coast, Chicago. The market showcased items such as jewelry, clothing, and home goods. One thing you noticed is everything was either homemade or hand crafted.

I already try to support local designers and entrepreneurs, but as of late I’ve been extremely focused on giving back to the community by supporting local brands. Events are held throughout Chicago all year long where you can give your support by supporting a local shop or entrepreneur. I would be lying if I said I buy all my items local, but when it comes to gifts I try to be unique and tend to shop boutiques.

Next up is the One of a Kind Chicago Holiday show and sale. It runs from December 3rd to December 6th. The 15th annual show features over 600 artists. It’s a great way to shop for unique items for anyone on your list. Last year I bought a co-worker Elvis Presley pot holders (random, but just showing you it really has everything for EVERYONE on your list).
