The holidays are right around the corner and it’s time to get shopping! The Jayson Home Capsule collection is back for 2019. Jayson Home’s two globe-trotting buyers, Caroline Scheeler and Devin Kirk, are following their wildly successful 2018 Holiday Capsule Collection with a bigger and better selection of 40 personally curated and sourced holiday gifts for 2019. I went to the media preview last year and picked up some cute gifts, so I was excited to see what they have in store for this year.
The 2019 Jayson Home Capsule Collection includes special edition, exclusive and small batch gift items and collaborations from makers they love from around the world. They come across so many talented artisans and wonderful products, they can’t resist placing holiday orders and each is a peek into the coolest items these style setters really want to give and get this year. Perfect for that notoriously-hard-to-shop-for person on your list or as gifts of self-love, JH Capsule Collection gifts start under-$20 and top out with splurge-worthy finds that will leave them speechless. Available at the Chicago emporium and online beginning in November, these limited-quantity finds will be available for Holiday but when they’re gone, they’re gone. I’ve highlighted a few items I LOVE from the collection below!
CAROLINE SCHEELER VP / CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Officially, Caroline Scheeler is Vice President and Creative Director here at Jayson Home. Less officially, she’s also a photographer, equestrian, yogi, chicken farmer, surfer and audiophile. With this well-rounded list of influences, an overflowing passport and a sixth sense for fashion, she’s been shaping the store’s soulful assortment of vintage and contemporary goods since she was hired on as a buyer in 1994.
DEVIN KIRK VP OF MERCHANDISING
Instinct is everything when it comes to Devin Kirk’s role as Vice President of Merchandising for Jayson Home. After all, that’s what drew him to the shop’s intangible magic seventeen years ago, after moving to Chicago on a whim. Part hunter and part storyteller, Devin’s eye for the uncommon and flair for the dramatic belie his buttoned-up exterior. A mash-up of influences, collected over a childhood spent moving from coast to coast with his gypsy-spirited mother, has culminated in an unabashed love for things. This nomadic life taught Devin to make any house into a home and readied him for travelling to far-flung locales in search of one-of-a-kind wares.
