If you’re a steak eater like I am you know that STK is a big deal. They already have 9 locations all over the country and Chicago will be there 10th and largest venue. The steakhouse will be located in River North area on State and Kinzie. We still have another 5 to 6 weeks before the opening, but I was fortunate to meet STK Chicago Chef Gerald Smith at a cooking demonstration at Bloomingdales on Wabash. Most recently Chef Smith was the corporate executive chef at Chicago’s Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises. He is bringing his love of cooking and expertise to STK Chicago.
At the demonstration we were treated to mouthwatering steak topped with Chimichurri. His use of the knife was impressive and I did gain quite a few tips I will use at home. For example Chimichurri started in Argentina and it adds flavor and tenderness to steak. Don’t I know it, because the steak samples melted in my mouth. Can’t wait for the opening!
